This year the organization of this conference was uh A bit tricky for us, we are from Portugal, Porto. We have a couple of extra trips here um this would not be possible without all the sponsors that uh helped us keeping the the prices

Speaker 1: Relatively affordable. Uh, and for from the help of all the volunteers, which uh this year gave us uh an extra bit of help. We are trying to uh to make the The groundwork to allow for other teams to continue organizing this conference. So this year we we have some volunteers that were trying to learn a bit more about this conference. Um as you all know we are filling up the European map. There are some blank spots maybe some somebody among you are willing to try to fill them out

Speaker 1: Um as usual we will have three three days of uh talks and workshops with the lightning talks at the end of the day. There is a board for you to um to apply to a lightning talk. On Thursday we will have uh group bot Ry and on Friday the typical party and then Saturday and Sunday as usual we will have the sprints. at a nearby model. Okay. If you have any technical issue or want uh some support you can find the volunteers team with uh these kind of

Speaker 1: t -shirts purple t-shirts um in terms of code of conduct you I think that uh this is uh Sentence tells it all, and you are more than familiar with uh with our um effort to to keep this nice for everybody. In case of any anything happens that uh that is otherwise uh the the correct code of conduct for our community you can um reach out to the this email or some of our code of conduct team members that will be around the conference.

Speaker 2: So uh on uh Saturday uh in parallel with the sprints we'll have uh uh Jungle Girls workshop. Uh they will have a booth uh dance stars so if you wanna chat with them you can uh just beat them. They'll have this uh Jungle girls logo on the background so feel free to engage with them. And here you have the the website in case you wanna sign up. Uh as David was saying, we'll have lightning talks. The board to sign up is it's right outside the door. It's a whiteboard. Just write your name and the name the title of the talk. And at the end of each day, we'll gather here and Everyone has five minutes to do a a quick talk. This is especially good if you're not an experienced speaker, so you get a little bit of the test of speaking in public.

Speaker 2: uh but not a big compromise that will take like a big preparation and half an hour and uh yeah do sign up On uh Thursday we have the the butt drive. The butt rive doesn't require any registration and it's free for all attendees so as long as you have the badge, just show it the badge and that's it. There is no registration, no uh no nothing, it's it's very straightforward. Um So area of the location, the location is also on the website. Uh the time. But please be there like half an hour earlier just to make sure we we manage to put everyone on the boat. Because if everyone shows up at seven thirty, we leave at eight.

Speaker 2: And uh the day after on Friday we'll have the the party sponsored by a platform message here on the rooftop with this beautiful view. And uh yeah it starts right after the conference so we'll do the closing session and then we'll go outside just go through this door we'll have some drinks and some snacks and uh you need to get the bracelet from the platform message booth Just go there, you visit them, and they will give you a little bracelet. And uh while we're here, if you want a t-shirt, we're not selling the purple ones, but you can get a white one. Uh it's exactly the same, just change the The color. And uh you can still buy one. Speaker 1: Okay, this year we um decided to do something uh a little bit different and uh we were thinking about There are lots of you that uh are always in these conferences, so we decided to create uh kind of uh Django Con passports. The you should have them in your totem bags. The stamps itself are downstairs and you will be able to stamp out the Djangokons that you have participating. We are sure that you you will only stamp the real ones, but who knows we have stamps for for Django Kon

Speaker 1: EU , Django Kong US, Django Kong Africa, and then we also have the the date stamps. This is just a a little playful thing. To uh to lighten the the mood. And uh these are our social media media handles. And I will also like to most of you don't know Frederico. Frederico is is helping us since uh 2020. He's the guy that actually does most of the behind the scenes uh interaction with the venue sponsors and so on

Speaker 1: and uh this year particularly because uh this year we have uh a little bit less attendees than uh in twenty twenty. In twenty twenty we had uh around five hundred uh over five hundred local attendees plus almost two hundred remote attendees. Last year from what I know it was around three fifty This year we are a little bit less than death , which meant that Federico had to do some kind of magic to accommodate everything in terms of budget but here we are with party with boat and and uh um a lot of other things so i want to give a special thank to to him
